This Ofsted-Outstanding nursery at Moor Park splits children into two age groups: Caterpillars (three months to two years) and Butterflies (ages two to three). In the former, staff work closely with parents, mirroring home routines to make the transition to nursery as smooth as possible and keeping a daily diary of feeds, sleep times and nappy changes. It’s small – 16 children max – and feels cosy.  In the Butterfly room, child-led play is balanced out with adult-initiated teaching designed to develop creativity and social skills.
