There’s much excitement about this highly regarded London prep’s upcoming evolution from boys-only to co-ed. A shiny new school building is already up and running, while parents eager to get their daughters’ names down are keeping the WUS inbox busy. From September 2026, girls will join the boys in Years 3 and 7, while the imminent opening of a new pre-prep means both girls and boys can get in on the action from reception age. As a result, the trajectory to Westminster School (the prep shares its foundation and governing body) will be even smoother for the young superstars...

Bursaries

Means-tested day bursaries of up to 100% of day fees are available and are awarded to pupils according to individual need, at 11+ entry to the Under School. When a full bursary is awarded, it will cover the cost of uniform, equipment and compulsory school expeditions. Bursaries awarded at 11+ continue, subject to satisfactory academic performance, until the pupil leaves Westminster School, should they choose to continue their education there. Westminster Under School has a joint programme of bursary support with the senior school that provides approximately £2m each year to pupils.

Pupils do not need to win a scholarship in order to be considered for a bursary, but a pupil who achieves a Music Scholarship can also apply for a bursary. A Music Scholarship may be supplemented by additional means-tested bursaries to a maximum of the full fees.
