Wetherby School Celebrates 75th raising £228,000 for The Gold Standard Charitable Trust's Wetherby Bursary Fund
Soane Hall at One Marylebone was transformed into a hub of celebration and philanthropy on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, as the Wetherby community gathered for the pinnacle of its 75th-anniversary celebrations: The Wetherby Fundraising Anniversary Gala.
The landmark event brought together parents, alumni and staff to honour Wetherby’s rich history while looking ahead to its exciting future. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the school community, the evening successfully raised over £228,000.All funds raised from the evening will directly benefit The Gold Standard Charitable Trust’s Wetherby Bursary Fund, which this year expands to include a new bursary fund for teachers’ children.
These vital initiatives create life-changing educational opportunities for talented young people whose circumstances might otherwise prevent them from accessing a Wetherby education, helping to ensure the school's doors remain open to exceptional pupils regardless of financial background.

The evening featured a vibrant array of entertainment and fundraising activities. Guests enjoyed musical performances by the Wetherby Senior School Jazz Band and entertainment from magician Fergus Flanagan. A silent auction included exclusive luxury lots such as artworks, bespoke hampers and a private dinner cooked by the recent Masterchef winner Jhané Gibson for dinner for 8.
Following an inspiring keynote speech by Mark Snell, guests hit the dance floor to a live DJ. In a festive conclusion to the night, attendees were invited to stay and watch the England v Ghana match.
