Celebrations at the Chiswick Regatta
Last Saturday, our squad competed at Chiswick Regatta on the river Thames, represented by a strong line-up of crews: two quads (J16 and J18 boys), two doubles (J15 boys and J16 girls), and four singles (J15, J16 boys and J18 girls).
Throughout the day, our rowers demonstrated resilience, determination and a high level of commitment. The racing was close and competitive across all events, showcasing the hard work put in during training.
We are proud to celebrate two outstanding victories:
• Ben R (U5) claimed 1st place in the J16 boys single, battling through tough, windy conditions with great composure.
• Angelika K (U6) took 1st place in the J18 girls single—an especially impressive achievement as it was her first race in a single.
Both Ben and Angelika delivered exceptional performances and we congratulate them on their well-earned wins.
A huge well done to all rowers who competed. Your efforts and team spirit were evident throughout the day. We look forward to building on this momentum and seeing more strong performances in future races.
Good Luck Upper Sixth!
Upper Sixth were waved off for study leave this week. Thursday saw the last Chapel Service which was led by the pupils and ended with party blowers and balloons. Parents then attended the Leavers’ Service and everyone enjoyed refreshments afterwards in Satis House gardens. Upper Sixth spent their last few hours receiving some silly awards and at a bounce and pizza party on the Alps. The very best of luck to all of our pupils starting study leave today and we look forward to celebrating your efforts with you soon.
VE Peace Parade
On the 80th anniversary of VE Day our CCF cadets were honoured to march to the war memorial alongside the Royal Engineers, 3rd Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, Medway Veteran’s groups and other cadets. After a service in Rochester Cathedral, a wreath was laid at the war memorial as the bells from the Cathedral, and across the country, rang to mark the occasion.
