St Lucia 2025 Tour – More Than Cricket!
What a treat we had in Assembly when a group of the boys shared the amazing experiences they enjoyed on the trip, including all the sport, the orphanage visit, the catamaran trip, the glorious scenery and not forgetting those delicious ice creams!
Year 6 West Wittering Trip
Year 6 enjoyed a day’s fieldwork to West Wittering on the Sussex Coast. The boys were introduced to the study area, which included a discussion of spit formation, the impacts of coastal processes and the conflicts which arise from human activity. A hugely worthwhile and enjoyable day, which will help the boys better understand the dynamic and complex nature of our coastlines.
Pupil Perspectives: Shaping Our Future
Gaining a genuine understanding of the boys’ experiences is fundamental to our ongoing commitment to evolve and enhance all that Shrewsbury House offers. Our Pupil Perspectives Committee took centre stage during assembly, where they eloquently articulated their mission: ‘to leave behind a positive legacy at Shrewsbury House for all pupils to feel inspired and to excel in our school.’
SHS Celebrates Primary Maths Challenge Bonus Round Success
Congratulations to our talented mathematicians who excelled in the Primary Maths Challenge first round and were invited to the Bonus Round in February.
Year 7 Explore Specialised Cells Through Creative Model-Making
As an introduction to their new topic on cells, Year 7 pupils were set an exciting challenge to research and build a 3D model of a specialised plant or animal cell. Each individual selected a particular cell to become an expert in, investigating its organelles, specific functions and unique adaptations
The Year 5 Twelfth Night Workshop
Year 5 boys were lucky enough to have two actors from the Rose Theatre YouthTheatre visit to deliver a workshop to introduce them to the characters and plot of the great Shakespeare play ‘Twelfth Night’. The boys engaged in a series of exercises to prepare themselves for the challenges of Shakespearean English, including group delivery of tongue twisters with expression and singing ‘Happy Birthday’ with their tongue out! It was fantastic to see how many budding actors there are amongst the year group!
Eco Committee – It’s ready!!
Our amazing greenhouse, that is entirely eco friendly, made with hundreds of plastic bottles kindly donated by every single member of the school community. Our fantastic facilities team put it together and now we are ready to grow plants, herbs or flowers.
IAPS Athletics Event
Our dedicated senior athletics team competed in the National IAPS athletics event...and were team CHAMPIONS! Congratulations!
Tennis victory
The winning momentum continued with our talented Year 5 and Year 6 tennis teams achieving another dominant away victory at King’s College, Wimbledon.
U11A Verney Cup Triumph
In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the U11A cricketers triumphed over Harrodian in the Verney Cup, winning by a convincing 10 wickets.
SHS Swimming – National Qualifiers!
Wow! – a record number of SHS swimmers have qualified for the IAPS National Swimming Finals next month, hosted at the London 2012 Olympic venue in Stratford. This competition involves thousands of swimmers from across the UK and to see so many from SHS makes us very proud.
