ACS International School Egham celebrates Class of 2025 in annual graduation ceremony

On Friday 23 May, ACS International School Egham hosted its annual Upper School graduation ceremony, where students and staff at the school came together to celebrate the incredible achievements of the Grade 12 (Year 13) students, ahead of them progressing to the next steps of their educational and professional journeys.

ACS Egham’s Head of School, Mark Wilson, said: 'I feel extremely privileged to have witnessed the personal and academic growth in this graduating class. Each student has shown tremendous dedication, curiosity and character throughout their time at ACS Egham and I am incredibly proud of their achievements and have every confidence in the bright futures ahead of them.

'This graduating class represents the very best of what an IB education can offer: independent thinkers, compassionate leaders and active global citizens who are ready to shape the future. I wish them all the very best in their next steps. I would also like to thank the students who performed music or spoke at the event, for making the ceremony all the more memorable. Finally, I would like to thank our amazing staff who have inspired and supported the students towards this important milestone.'

Addressing her peers and speaking for the class of 2025, was Grade 12 student Imogen Wiggins, who said: 'What the IB experience has done for all of us is to build resilience. The legacy of our experience here at ACS Egham will allow us to embrace new opportunities as they come and not shy away from them.'

During the ceremony, all 65 graduating students were awarded their diplomas before several students were honoured with senior awards recognising exceptional performance and leadership. This year, for the first time, ACS Egham had two Valedictorians, awarding one International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), Valedictorian and one IB Career-related Programme (CP) Valedictorian.

The IB DP Valedictorian award, presented to the student with the highest academic average in the IB DP, was awarded to Asmit Agrawal. Asmit holds offers to study Economics at University College London, the University of Bath and Warwick University, with a 50% scholarship, as well as at European universities Erasmus University in Rotterdam and Bocconi University in Milan. The IB CP Valedictorian award, presented to the student with the highest academic average in the IB CP, was awarded to Max O'Brien, who holds offers to study International Relations at the University of Leeds, Business and Management at the University of York and Business Management and Economics at Nottingham Trent University.

The Founder’s Award was presented to Efe Akin for outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to extracurricular involvement. Efe has offers to study Politics and International Relations at University College London and International Relations at Kings College London.

ACS Egham is the only school in England to offer all four International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, which are recognised by schools and universities all over the world.
