Holme Grange School Triumphs at Royal Windsor Flower Show 2025
Holme Grange School in Wokingham is celebrating a double win at this year鈥檚 prestigious Royal Windsor Flower Show, held in the grounds of Windsor Great Park.
Pupils in Years 1 and 2 were named winners of the Mackintosh Memorial Shield, awarded for their creative wheelbarrow design and potato crop inspired by the theme “Patterns and Connections with Nature.” The shield was presented by Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh, who praised the children’s thoughtful interpretation of the theme.
In addition, Holme Grange once again achieved the highest potato yield, earning the Putnam Cup for the second year running – a remarkable achievement for the young pupils involved.
Representatives from the school had the opportunity to meet His Majesty The King, who took interest in the pupils’ environmental message, '
leave only footprints.' They also met well-known gardener and broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh, as well as HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh, both long-standing supporters of the event.
Mrs Claire Cox, Head of Pre School, commented: 'P
upils at Holme Grange are thrilled with their success at the Royal Windsor Flower Show. It’s a wonderful testament to what we do every day – nurturing excellence from the ground up, whether in the garden, the classroom, on the stage or on the sports field.'
The school also thanked the families who attended and supported the pupils on the day, making the experience even more special.
