London School Awarded Prestigious Harmony Accreditation for Excellence in Sustainability
Hampton Court House School, the award-winning school for students aged 2–18 based in Hampton Court, has received a Harmony Accreditation for embedding sustainability in its curriculum.
The accreditation is part of the Harmony in ¿´Æ¬¿ñÈË programme, sponsored by The King Charles III Charitable Fund.
This recognition places the school among a select group nationally that excel in teaching students about sustainability within its curriculum.
Located on the historic grounds of a Grade II listed building adjacent to Bushy Park, Hampton Court House prides itself on offering a progressive education - embedded in the principles of nature and sustainability, from Forest School in the Early Years to its student led Eco-Committee driving sustainability initiatives within the school..
Drawing on the principles of HRH King Charles III’s book Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World, the Harmony in ¿´Æ¬¿ñÈË programme encourages holistic learning rooted in nature and biodiversity.
The Harmony programme educates children on the seven principles of harmony in nature, which show how everything in the universe is connected and exists in a state of perfect balance.
Building on this vision, Hampton Court House has embedded these principles into a Prep school curriculum from Reception to Year 6, with one principle explored each half term and geometry integrated throughout the year. These principles are taught to pupils in dedicated lessons throughout the year Mapped through Science, English, Design and Technology and Art, the programme connects closely to the national curriculum while exploring each subject in greater depth through inquiry-based questions and open conversations that allow learning to evolve naturally..
Katherine Vintiner, Hampton Court House Principal, said:
'We are honoured to receive the Harmony Accreditation which we have been working on as a school for the past two years. It resonates deeply with our ethos - nurturing curious, compassionate and environmentally conscious young people.
'This recognition celebrates our commitment to fostering a sustainable mindset across our school and we look forward to building on this achievement.'
Having joined the Harmony in ¿´Æ¬¿ñÈË network, Hampton Court House is now part of a pioneering alliance of schools reimagining education with a sustainable, systems-focused lens.
